Application Segment Management is a core feature of Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) that enables organizations to control and secure access to internal applications. Instead of granting network-level access, ZPA uses application segments—logical groupings of apps based on business function or security requirements.

Admins can define these segments and assign policies that determine who can access which applications. This ensures users only reach the apps they are authorized for, reducing attack surfaces and minimizing lateral movement within the network. Segmentation also simplifies access management, as new applications can be added to existing segments without changing firewall rules.

By leveraging Application Segment Management, organizations achieve granular, zero-trust access that is both secure and scalable.
